Emerging from Southern California with an armory of ideals and obsessions, March Faction boasts a unique symmetry of old fashioned songwriting with modern rock sensibility. Combining art rock's experimentation and innovation with pop accessibility, this group aims to be both entertaining and challenging.

March Faction does not want to reject contemporary rock, but rather rejuvenate the genre and bring back the promise of rock music as both art and entertainment. With the use of both conventional and unorthodox song structures, and a variety of musical instruments, this band is a true alternative to the current popular music.

The name "March Faction" represents the band's desire to examine cultural and personal politics with a critical eye. While most bands exist just to play music, March Faction was created to question the status quo in society, as well as in music. Although politically influenced, the band is aware of the need to balance agenda with entertainment, and does not bombard its audience with rhetoric and slogans.

DoPhan and Amanda have played together in various bands since the fall 1996. They were joined in 2000 by Tariq, a transplant from San Francisco. To escape the constraints of a traditional rock band, March Faction enlists the services of musicians and vocalists from outside the rock genre in order to broaden their soundscape.

March Faction's demo CD was recorded at DoPhan's home studio and in their rehearsal studio with a Roland 16 track digital recorder.
